ORTUS SOLIS

A fragrance born in the light.

Some ideas are born from the desire to create something new.

Others arise from a counter-image.

ORTUS SOLIS was my third fragrance – and originally intended as a limited composition. Its idea began with a question:

What would a counterpart to LUNE NOIRE smell like if it wasn't created in the silence of the night, but in the light of day?

If the warmth of the sun replaces the moon and stars. If darkness becomes light. If a fragrance emerges from the depth of night, characterized by light, warmth, and lightness.

Thus, ORTUS SOLIS was born.

The name essentially means "sunrise" – and precisely this image forms the heart of the composition: the moment when darkness disappears and the first warm rays usher in a new day.

In its opening, ORTUS SOLIS appears bright, soft, and immediately inviting. Mandarin orange and orange bring a juicy, sunny freshness, while vanilla already at the beginning weaves a warm, creamy sweetness through the composition. The citrus notes thus do not seem sharp, but almost as if surrounded by golden light.

In the heart, two apparent opposites meet. Star anise brings a fine, aromatic spice, deliberately reminiscent of the darker world of LUNE NOIRE. Cherry blossom, on the other hand, adds a delicate, floral accent – light, transparent, and almost ethereal.

The base gives ORTUS SOLIS its special warmth. Sandalwood and musk settle softly and creamily on the skin, while white wine lends the composition an unusual, slightly fruity and almost sparkling facet. What remains is a bright, warm fragrance with an elegant depth that slowly blends with the skin.
